test date and entry form

To apply for a test date, select the test level and set preferred test day fill out the required information on the new NAVHDA member portal. This is to say: go to NAVHDA portal login (i.e., https://portal.navhda.us/auth/login ) enter you credentials (NAVHDA id and password). Notice you may need to enter a one time code to comply with two factor authentication (2FA) procedure. You can either use an authenticator or ask for the code be sent via e-mail at your NAVHDA registered e-mail address.

On the left side menu choose “Upcoming tests” scroll down up to the chapter/date you wish to apply. Click on “register for test” , a web form is created, select the dog, the preferred date and the test type. Finally, click on “Generate applications” and 1) you application will be generated; 2) will be sent to the test Secretary of the chooses chapter; and 3) a copy will be sent to you.

Payment

• Payment can be either in the form of an e-transfer (only for Canadian residents) to the club’s treasurer or via PayPal (only for US residents). For other payment methods contact the Test Secretary.
• Completed Entry forms, test fees and your NAVHDA member number are required in order for you to reserve a spot in the test. Entries received without this information will be deferred until the information/payment is received with the exception of puppies from litters that have not yet been born or registered.
• Once the number of applications reaches the maximum of the NAVHDA sanctioned test capacity chart, any additional entry will be assigned on a reserve list. The test Secretary will inform all applicants accordingly.

The chapter tests are NAVHDA sanctioned as such all tested dog must be registered with NAVHDA. Please be aware of the following rules:

• Owners (or at least one owner of co-owned dogs) and any handler must be current NAVHDA International members in order to enter into a test and run a dog.
• No handler may run more than 2 dogs in either the spring or fall test.
• Only the dog registered for a test will be able to participate. No substitutions will be allowed.

Current test entry fees are as follows:

• US Entrants will be invoiced to pay electronically once Test Entry Form is received by the Test Secretary
• Canadian Entrants can pay via eTranfer. Instructions will be sent when Test Entry Form is received by the Test Secretary.

Test will be posted on the Ottawa Valley and NAVHDA sites as of September each year.  The selection for entering an Ottawa Valley test will be based on the following:

1. Members who have actively volunteered in Chapter events will be given first priority through September and October
2. Members will be given priority over non-members for the period of November and December
3. Non-Member will be considered starting in January

Please note that all can submit entry forms at any time after the test dates are published and their entries will be kept on file and considered according to their application date and the Club’s Order of Priority as stated above by the test secretary.

The running order will be determined about two weeks prior to the test date. It will be based on many factors such as male vs female, NA vs UPT vs UT, operational constraints and consultations with the senior judge. Please note that the running order is always subject to change and can only be finalised on the morning of the test. As well, regardless of the running order, all handlers and their dogs need to be present on site at the time the test begins/judges’ introduction.

No entry fees will be refunded except in the following situations:

1. if an entry is filled with a replacement entry prior to 30 days before the test date
2. for a medical condition backed up by a doctor’s or veterinarian’s note
3. for entries on waiting list for which no room was found in a test.
